Why "Sheep Songs?"

Honestly, it was the first title I could think of for this blog, and it works in that as a child of God, I am His sheep (John 10:1-16) and I have heard the Good Shepherd's voice in many ways.  Sometimes it was a sermon, or a passage of Scripture, or the testimony of a believer.  Sometimes He spoke through a stranger at a bus stop, or a random TV show, or a dream.  I know my Shepherd's voice.  Often, He speaks through music, whether it's during worship, or a special performance, or a song on the radio.  I've chosen to focus on His voice in music, because I have always been interested in the story behind the music, or the emotion that a song can evoke, or why a certain melody gets stuck in my head.  God is using this blog to speak to me, to call me out of the crevasse that I have hidden in, and to come back to Him.  And, by His grace, maybe you can hear him calling you as well.
